FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA - Artichokes alla triestina

Baked Artichokes with Garlic and Parsley

Prep & Cook Time: 20 minutes

Servings: 4

Preheat: 370°F

Ingredients

  • 8 Artichokes
  • 3 tablespoons Chopped Parsley
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 4 tablespoons Breadcrumbs
  • 5 tablespoons Viaggio Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black Pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Drain the artichokes (if using jarred or canned) and set them aside. If using fresh artichokes, trim the tops and remove the tough outer leaves before preparing.
  2. Mince the garlic and chop the parsley. In a small bowl, combine the garlic, parsley, breadcrumbs, Viaggio Extra Virgin Olive Oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  3. Gently open up the leaves of each artichoke and stuff them with the breadcrumb mixture, making sure to distribute it evenly between the leaves.
  4. Arrange the stuffed artichokes on a baking tray. Bake in a preheated oven at 370°F (190°C) for about 10-15 minutes, or until the breadcrumbs are golden brown.
  5. Serve the artichokes warm, enjoying their crispy, flavorful topping.
