FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA - Gnocchi alla friulana

Gnocchi with Sage Butter & Cherry Tomato Sauce

Ingredients
- Viaggio Gnocchi (about 1 lb)
- 4 oz Butter
- 4 fresh Sage leaves
- 2 teaspoons Viaggio Grated Parmesan
- Salt, to taste
- Black Pepper, to taste
- Nutmeg, to taste
- 2 cups Viaggio Cherry Tomatoes, halved
- 3 tablespoons Viaggio Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Instructions
- Heat Viaggio Extra Virgin Olive Oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the Viaggio Cherry Tomatoes and cook for 5-10 minutes, until they soften and release their juices. Stir occasionally.
- Add the butter and sage leaves to the pan. Stir to melt the butter and let the sage infuse the sauce. Season with salt, black pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg to taste. Set aside.
- In a separate pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the Viaggio Gnocchi and cook according to package instructions (usually until they float to the top). Once cooked, drain the gnocchi.
- Transfer the cooked gnocchi into the pan with the cherry tomato sauce. Toss gently to coat the gnocchi evenly with the sauce.
- Plate the gnocchi and sauce, then top with Viaggio Grated Parmesan. Serve immediately.
Optional Add-ins:
- A drizzle of extra Viaggio Olive Oil before serving for added richness.
