FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA - Gnocchi alla friulana

Gnocchi with Sage Butter & Cherry Tomato Sauce

Prep & Cook Time: 20 minutes

Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • Viaggio Gnocchi (about 1 lb)
  • 4 oz Butter
  • 4 fresh Sage leaves
  • 2 teaspoons Viaggio Grated Parmesan
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black Pepper, to taste
  • Nutmeg, to taste
  • 2 cups Viaggio Cherry Tomatoes, halved
  • 3 tablespoons Viaggio Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Instructions

  1. Heat Viaggio Extra Virgin Olive Oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the Viaggio Cherry Tomatoes and cook for 5-10 minutes, until they soften and release their juices. Stir occasionally.
  2. Add the butter and sage leaves to the pan. Stir to melt the butter and let the sage infuse the sauce. Season with salt, black pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg to taste. Set aside.
  3. In a separate pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the Viaggio Gnocchi and cook according to package instructions (usually until they float to the top). Once cooked, drain the gnocchi.
  4. Transfer the cooked gnocchi into the pan with the cherry tomato sauce. Toss gently to coat the gnocchi evenly with the sauce.
  5. Plate the gnocchi and sauce, then top with Viaggio Grated Parmesan. Serve immediately.

Optional Add-ins:

  • A drizzle of extra Viaggio Olive Oil before serving for added richness.
